Short mat bowls is an indoor sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a heavy ball along a fairly flat surface, to gain as many shots as possible by getting their bowls nearer to the jack than their opponents, and so outscore them. The game is a modern variation on lawn bowls, from which the game is derived.

|Third Monday of Month||10:00 Onwards|
The Waveney Valley Study Group was set up in February 2009 to increase U3A members knowledge of the landscape, pastimes, rural interests and future of the Waveney Valley.
The Group functions well on the understanding that all members express their views openly and acknowledge that the aim of everyone is to bring a diverse range of interests to the table for all to share. Members are encouraged to introduce speakers to the Group (or give presentations themselves) and outings are enjoyed by all, particularly during the summer months.
